Aquafire is revamping their menu and just between their Mango Fest & their Culinary experiments, they decided to give us a tiny sneak peek
of just what their customers are in for.
Pinacolada Strawberry Mocktail
A half & half of Pinacolada & a Strawberry cooler, looked intriguing
& was simply refreshing !
Coconut & Curry Leaf Shot
When we saw these shot glasses come by, we assumed they were some kind of a milk based cooler. We noticed the curry leaves & Chilly flakes around and just picked them up. They were warm to touch… and we thought… Well its a shot ! Bottoms Up !
Warm and completely tadkedaar ! It reminded us of the Marathi ‘Takhachi Kadhi’
but with a twist.
Lotus Stem Crispies
What we visualized & what was presented to us were completely two poles apart ! Golden-brown, deep-fried slices of lotus stem, sprinkled with a volley of spices. The crispies came in tiny shot glasses and were a delight to have. The lotus stem was delicate as well as neutral in taste letting the chatpata spices blend well in every bite.
The lotus stem crispies came with a yummy mint chutney.
This dish, as told to us by Team Aquafire, is one of Aquafire’s signatures dishes and a favourite amongst their customers. The lotus Stem Crispies are actually inspired from this dish. A glance, and they look just like the former; but when you take a bite you can feel the difference. As you pop one of the Kurkures into your mouth, you can definitely taste the soft and salty bhindi along with the spicy-tangy spices. We loved it ! These too came with a mint chutney.
Dhaniya Tulsi Tikka
Tandoored Paneer marinated in Coriander & Basil paste, along with capsicum, tomato & onion. The tender pieces of paneer just melted in your mouth.
Parsi Lamb Cutlet
Mashed potatoes & Kheema mix, coated in egg, slit open and stuffed with Potato Salli & tomato sauce. Despite being deep fried, the Cutlet was devoid of any oil (a hi5 for that). A crispy coating with a soft inside and great it taste. The potato Sallis too were nice and crisp adding a crunch to each spoonful.
Charmoula Cottage Steak
Soft slabs of Paneer marinated in a herb sauce with vegetables & Mash. We just took a tiny bite & were impressed.
Cheesy Chicken Sheek
A mince meat kebab coated with a bit of egg and the goodness of cheese inside! No, cheese doesn’t come rushing out once you sink your teeth into the kebab, but, the chef has managed to give just the right amount of cheese so that it doesn’t overpower the meat at any point. I mean we are eating it for the kebab and not the cheese, right? The kebabs were served in a shot glass dipping into a mint chutney.
This was one big surprise! When we were told by the manager that it had sugarcane in it, we thought ‘oh, a sweet kebab’. When we took that first bite and bit into it, we felt something hard obstruct our teeth… Wait…What !!! As we looked closer… we found out that it was a piece of sugarcane. The coating of the kebab with the sweet juice of sugarcane was a wonderful contrast & we enjoyed biting through.
Accompaniment : Mint Chutney.
Coffee & Cumin infused Fish with Truffle Mash,
Exotic vegetables & Cumin Sauce
Coffee, Cumin and Fish? We had our apprehensions! As the plate was brought onto the table, we just wanted to dig in! Beautiful pieces of well marinated basa sitting atop a bed of sautéed vegetables ( Carrots, Zucchini, Squash, Babycorn, Bell Peppers ) laid out on a soft & creamy Truffle Mash. Wow. Each level was a different taste bud experience. The beautiful thick cumin-coffee gravy just added a crazy flavour to the mix.
Fellow blogger, Aditya, was true to his blog… he totally hogged it up! We can’t blame him… it was delicious!
Mango & Jalapeño grilled Chicken with Rosemary Mash, Exotic Vegetables served with a Mango and Jalapeño Sauce.
We are drooling while just typing this! Aquafire really did good by the King of Fruits by introducing this summer dish. Beautifully grilled pieces of chicken sitting on a bed of sautéed veggies (Carrots, Zucchini, Squash, Babycorn, Bell Peppers ) placed on a delicious Rosemary Mash. The Rosemary Mash was abundant in its pine like pungent flavour and went perfectly with the Sweet & Spicy Mango Jalapeño sauce.
The sauce was so amazing that even our fellow vegetarian bloggers (Richa & Shourya) couldn’t get enough of it!
Mango Ice cream with Mango cubes
One can never go wrong with such a simple classic summer dessert. Yummy sweet ice cream with fleshy cubes of Mango. We could eat bowls of this!
Hazelnut and Almond, Butterscotch
with Coffee Liquor Reduction
A beautiful, cold, three layered dessert abundant in flavour and texture… as good as a party in your mouth! We doused it in the Coffee Liquor Reduction and it hit us right where it had to. (Pssst…The Coffee Liquor Reduction is made in-house.)
Seven Layered Dark Chocolate
with Vanilla ice cream
A symmetrical delight for the eyes, this seven layered Dark Chocolate served with Vanilla Ice Cream is quite a team. As soon as we took our pics, we gulped it down! The moist cake was incredible; the dark chocolate & Vanilla Ice cream unify to give you a wonderful sweet bitter aftertaste.
By the end of the tasting we were absolutely stuffed!
Every single dish presented to us looked fabulous and tasted incredible.
When the owner, Rahul Singh, asked us for suggestions we didn’t know what to say except ‘Everything on the Plate was just awesome!’ ( you see what we did there **wink wink** )
A shout out to Managers -Victor & Santosh who took us through every dish, Rahul Singh who ensured time and time again that we were taken care of and helped us take pics too! And last but not the least a huge applause for Chef Chetan Bolar who gave our tastebuds a treat they won’t forget.
We will definitely be visiting soon!
