Apart from just its pristine beauty, the Himalayan region is well known for its abundant produce and amazing resources. Well aware of the same, Nourishco launched their Natural Mineral Water Brand to help share the beautiful essence of the Himalayas with the world.
Nourishco beverages, an original Tata product, began as a joint venture between Tata Global Beverages and Pepsico India. Their aim was to introduce the Indian market to the goodness of Natural Mineral Water along meaningful hydration solutions in ready-to-drink beverages. The original Tata product, Himalayan, joined hands with Pepsico for marketing and distribution of the same. We got a chance to meet Nourishco’s VP and Head of Marketing, Mr. Kuttiah KS, who shared with us some insightful knowledge on Nourishco’s natural mineral water unit.
Breaking the myth of packaged drinking water and mineral water, Himalayan is the first of its kind in India. Made from the melting snow, flowing down the Shivalik range of the Himalayas, each drop of Himalayan goes through 20 years of percolation and natural filtering, before getting collected and packaged at the source. No artificial and unnatural procedure is used in the production as it is completely untouched and unprocessed.
India has different types of water in its different regions and the taste changes accordingly. The reason for the change in taste is due to the number of minerals dissolved in the water. Many packaged drinking water brands have been incorrectly labeled as natural mineral water. Manufactured through processes of purification and filtration, packaged drinking water certainly purifies the water but takes away the beneficial minerals from it.
Flavored water and natural mineral water have become extremely popular globally and India is quickly catching up with the trend. Increasing the awareness of the natural mineral water segment in India, Himalayan aims to introduce their audience to the goodness of mineral and flavored water. The current range of Himalayan products launched in the Indian market includes- Himalayan Natural Mineral Water, Himalayan Sparkling Water, and Himalayan Orchard Pure, with a concentrated distribution approach.
India’s very own and first sparkling water brand, Himalayan Sparkling, has been designed to take a subtle, sophisticated, frozen form in minimal fine lines that re-evokes the Himalayan source story at its minimal best.
A surprising and unique packaging innovation, the Himalayan sparkling limited-edition bottles come with ‘sound cap’, designed to play the sound of wind from the upper reaches of the Himalayas when you twist open the cap of the bottle. Mr. Kuttiah told us that the sound cap is a celebration of the rawness and fineness of Himalayas – two propositions that make Himalayan Sparkling a perfect accompaniment for fine dining experiences.
